2014 Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough
To say I’m thrilled with this wine is to put it mildly! I’ve always loved New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and jumped at the chance to go to New Zealand and make it.
Having been there, I love NZ Sauvignon Blanc more than ever. It is a beautiful land, populated by kind, hard-working people. The weather is great, the scenery spectacular, the land fruitful.
The fruit comes from the Roberts Vineyard in the Awatere Valley and the Auntsfield Vineyard in the Wairau. An off-shoot of the Wairau Valley, Awatere Valley Sauvignon Blanc tends to exhibit tropical fruits and bracing acidity. The Wairau fruit from Auntsfield tends to be riper and richer.
The particular qualities of the 2014 Sineann Marlborough SB that captivates are the sheer intensity of fruit on the palate, the mid-palate creaminess and the richness of the finish - along with the beautiful natural acidity.
We attribute the remarkable fruit and lengthy finish to the special care the fruit receives. This is a rare, hand-harvested New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, cluster-sorted. It makes a difference!
The 2014 Sineann Sauvignon Blanc is one of the best we’ve made and is a great example of how special Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc can be.
